CES 2010 has unveiled many great gadgets, either real ones and concepts. Along with some of their products, ASUS Corporation has presented some astonishing concepts, anyone can be impressed with. The two of them are shown below, they both are a part of Waveface – a series of concepts by Asus. This series is targeted to make devices be highly functional, but still very simple to use.

Asus Waveface Light is an unusual notebook, you can twist and bend it in any way you like. The device has a flexible screen as well, and its keyboard is also a touch screen. If you lay it flat you will get a tablet PC. In fact, flexible screens will hopefully become a reality soon, there are several companies developing this technology now.

Another device concept presented by Asus is Waveface Ultra. It looks somewhat like a bracelet or a wristwatch, but it is a communicator. You can operate it simply by moving your arm, and it has a fancy look.

The devices seem to be rather useful, any many now hope them to become a reality soon, though we all know that not every concept makes it to a production line.

In the end of February a Green Gadgets Conference took place in New York. The idea of the conference is to present gadgets that are not only useful, but also help preserve nature and energy resources by some way, help us feel better and be healthier.
There were many nice concepts shown, but there were winners too. Here are the best three, so check out for some innovation here!

First place

The first place was given to (and it really should have been) Augmented Living Goods project. It is supposed to let you use your cellphone camera to scan the code on various products in stores, and look for comments on it from those who have already tried it, search for best prices on it in your neighborhood. This would help people choose products and save.

Second Place

IllumiCharger is a USB charger device that has a solar battery uses solar energy to charge any USB stuff you connect. The device is also capable of collecting energy, so you can use it even at night.

Third Place

Empower is a concept of a swing-chair that produces electric energy as you swing in it. It generates it form the mechanic energy, and can possibly produce energy of 110 V.

We all live in a beautiful era, when our dreams and even the craziest fantasies are becoming a reality…one by one. Operating gadgets with voice, robots that help us do the laundry and clean the house, 3-D movies – all this is stuff from the sci-fiction books we used to read when we were kids, and a part of our life today.

Some of us can’t help admiring all this, some are more calm, but there hardly will be anyone to remain ignorant about Glenn Martin’s invention – a Jetpack, or a rocket backpack, if you want. Basically, “rocket” is not the best word for it, as this 535 lbs aircraft device is meant to help you navigate through the neighbourhoods, not send you to the space.

This video shows Jetpack’s fantastic maneuverability:

It’s inventor, Glenn Martin from New Zealand, has been working on Jetpack for years, but now the device has gone through the last trials and is now making its way towards production line. Can you buy one for yourself? Yes! The Jetpack is now available through pre-order on Glenn Martin’s website for $80000 dollars, but it is said to become cheaper as the production volume increases.
