But they don't have to do a study to know that most times a couple of more years profit before getting caught are worth a few tens of millions in lawsuits by the survivors. That's been the M.O. with GM, Firestone Tires, countless drug manufacturers and if you think about it, the Bush Administration itself - screw 'em as long as you can and pay what you have to (if anything) later.
