IRAQ NOT MAJOR PART OF TERROR WAR
The recent CBS poll citing declining Bush credibility has been widely cited, but one part of it has not gotten the attention it deserves. That is how Americans view the Iraq war as to how it fits with the War on Terror. Here's CBS's results:
In other words, 60% of the population either believes the Iraq war a minor part or NO part of the war on terror. And a minor part is hardly worth 600 American lives and untold billions of dollars, I would think.
Interestingly the 34% who believe that the war WAS a major part is virtually identical to the 36% who still believe that Saddam was responsible for 9-11. Source: [*]

Well 2% of the respondents believe Saddam was responsible and STILL don't think Iraq was a major part of the war on terror. That's pretty funnnny...

The masses are psychologically predispositioned to project power and authority outside of themselves, and then conditioned not to question or doubt those who wear the exteriorized mantle of authority. It should be no suprise then, that most people blindly accept the words of presidents, popes, ayatollahs, generals, messiahs, prime ministers, priests, kings, etc, as holy truth, especially when the security of the pack or tribe appears to be threatened. This is when primal emotional anxieties and insecurities can be easily exploited and manipulated by authority figures who alarmingly warn us of the imanent dangers of "The Enemy".
